Please bear in mind that whilst the U15 Girls County program is viewed as a development tool on the Player Pathway, it is still a step up from club rugby.

The number of girls now playing has grown considerably and in order to make sure everyone has a positive experience we would ask that you please only send your most capable players to the trials.

Please consider the following points when nominating:

Please ensure nominees are:

  • · Confident in their ability and always give maximum effort
  • · Willing to make positive contributions to training and matches
  • · Able to tackle effectively and show good defensive awareness
  • · Competent at passing off both hands and making a variety of passes
  • · Able to identify space and mismatches within defence
  • · Confident in contact and able to present the ball effectively
  • · Good decision makers
  • · Willing to demonstrate TREDS in all aspects of the game

The trial venue has now been confirmed as Havant RFC, Fraser Road, Havant, PO9 3EJ for the dates below.

Players are invited to the initial assessment on the 31st Jan and to the 2nd assessment on the 2nd Feb.

It is so good to see three of our Ex solent Internship students who are now RFU CRC’s represented at the RFU stonewall training.
Sharon one of our Hampshire CRCs who worked with them - must be feeling very proud!
Again proof of how our Hampshire schemes work so well and breed success!

English Clubs Championship – Competitions and Structure

Many of you will be aware that the RFU is currently undertaking a strategic appraisal of its competitions and their structure and I have been involved in my role as Chairman of RFU Adult Competitions Committee. A group, Adult Male Competitions Structure Group, was established by the RFU Management Board and the RFU Community Game Board (CGB) and has been evaluating our existing competitions model against some core principles that have been raised by a significant number of players, coaches and members of our clubs.   In order that you are aware of the breadth and depth of this work and the timeline for any changes the group may recommend, I am advising you of both the terms of reference for the group and the position agreed by the CGB at their meeting earlier this week.

Click here for full report.

After a review of Hampshire 4 domestic league by the Competitions sub-committee and the Game Development Committee the following was found;
-8 out of the 10 teams involved were not able to field a side of minimum 10 players.
-The other 2 teams were struggling to find replacement friendly fixtures with cancellations close to the date.
The Game Development Committee has taken the decision to dissolve Hampshire 4 for the remainder of the 19-20 season.
Petersfield 3rd XV has been allocated the league slot in Hampshire 3 formerly taken by Ventnor 2nd XV.
In the place of Hampshire 4 and the supernumerary players of all other Hampshire teams, our RDOs and Chris Budden are offering Social Rugby in a format similar to Friday Night Under Lights.
Please contact Chris Budden or Kieran Spencer for more information(contact details below)These will be held on the following dates/venues initially;
18th January @Alresford RFC 1pm meet
15th February @Stoneham RFC 1pm meet
21st March @TBC
