We seek to appoint a new part-time Executive Director in January 2018 to manage the Union's affairs.

 

A suitable candidate will have a passion for rugby; this is a prerequisite.

 

You will be an energetic leader and team player with proven success and varied experience in senior management.

We need an effective decision maker and a strategic thinker.

 

Self-motivation, flexibility and a hands-on approach are essential; an eye for detail is invaluable.

There are no absolutes as regards qualifications for this post.

 

Essential skills required include:

A thorough knowledge of committee work;

A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;

A sound understanding of office administrative and budgetary procedures;

The ability to identify and implement processes that continually improve the effectiveness of the Union;

The ability to communicate easily and effectively with a wide range of people including RFU Directors and Managers, Officers in the County's Rugby Clubs and the many volunteers in the Union.

Experience of sports administration in general and rugby in particular would be a significant advantage.

 

There is some flexibility in working hours and the location where the work is done, but the continued effectiveness and efficiency of the Union is imperative. Candidates should be available to attend the office for twenty hours a week and attend an average of twenty-five evening meetings a year.

 

The appointment will start immediately and will work alongside the Admin Officer.

 

 The monthly salary will be £800 and leave allowance is generous.

 

 A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, issued through the Rugby Football Union is required for this position.
