The Hampshire U15’s played there second match of the season against Kent at Edenbridge RFC and whilst the weather was kind to the visitors, they were still defeated by their counterparts in a good game of flowing rugby by 24 points to 10.
The first half-allowed Kent to get the upper hand. Their domination of play was reflected in the score (14-0). In the second half the Hampshire Team recovered with two tries that showed the speed and skill of the backs. These were delivered by Anna Stephenson & Amy (Minty) Dickinson sprinting the length of the pitch. This recovery began to take pace, however Kent responded with two further tries.
This was the second outing for the Squad this season and the gameplay throughout was good with successful support play and decision making.
The Squad responded well to the pressure that Kent put them under, however were unable to respond to the tries made by Kent.
After the tournament, the Hampshire team manager Fiona Bryan said, "The result doesn’t reflect the excellent team play that was delivered by the team, there was some great support play and our defence was good, but at times not good enough!"
