SAFEGUARDING RUGBY
A STATEMENT
A Club that does not have any Academy players, Under 18s or any Colts, Junior or Mini/Midi teams or players does NOT have to have a Child Welfare Officer.
If such a Club has any 17-year-old players in one or more of its senior sides, the RFU recommends that the Club Chairman appoints a responsible adult in that team to look after the individual as a buddy/mentor until the player attains the age of 18 years. This mentor should be named and must be a 'sensible' person, ideally who understands or works with youths if possible.

IMPORTANT CHILD WELFARE NEWS
COURSES and TRAINING SESSIONS
- The RFU Safeguarding Staff will be visiting Hampshire on 12 September
2012 at Winchester RFC, start at 7pm. All involved with Mini, Junior
and Youth Rugby in the county are invited to attend. This has always
been very successful in the past.
