The role of the Community Rugby Committee is to identify and implement programmes that develop and grow the game of Rugby Union in Hampshire. We focus on the following areas:
Coaching, Volunteering, Youth Rugby, Women's Rugby, Schools Rugby, Students Rugby, Refereing, Club Facilities Improvement, County Sports Partnerships.
The Committee comprises of County Volunteers, RFU Staff and a Hampshire County Sports Partnership Representative.
Key activities for 2011/2012 are:
- Player retention at all levels of the game, especially 16-24 age group
- Grow the Volunteer base in the County and the Clubs
- Promote the Rugby Code - Enjoyment, Respect, Discipline, Teamwork and Sportsmanship
- Improve the numbers and quality of referees and Coaches
- Improve the links with County Sports Partnerships
- Improve the Club links with Schools and Colleges
- Supporting Club Facility improvements
- Continue the development of the women's game
- Continue the development of the Mini/Junior game

The RFU provide many useful downloads that can help Clubs to establish good management practices with a minimum of effort. If you have a need for help in this area, please visit the RFU main web site (www.rfu.com) and reference the Community Rugby section for links to these downloads.
We have developed a series of tools/models and templates that can be used by Clubs as a basis for creating documentation describing how your club operates and is managed. These are referenced below and are in MS Word format. They can be downloaded and modified to suit your clubs needs.
