Two products of Hampshire have recently been given contract with London Irish. Jack Ramshaw, who started his career with Gosport and Fareham, and Luke Peters, who played his youth rugby at Portsmouth, have both been offered one-year Academy contracts with the Premiership outfit.
The pair have represented the County all the way from Under 14s and worked their way through the Hampshire School of Rugby Bronze groups, into Silver and finally onto the AASE scheme, where they have been combining 'A' level studies alongside full time coaching and training with London Irish for the past two years.
Mike Greenslade, manager of the Under 18 squad and coack to Jack in his early days at Gosport and Fareham, is delighed at the news of their success.
"Both are great examples of what can be achieved with a mix of great skill, dedication, determination and a little luck along the way," he said. "Everyone connected with the players on their journey through Hampshire rugby over the years, wishes them every success over the next 12 months and will be watching their progress with great interest."
This news comes hot on the heels of fellow Under 18 player Luke Jones being signed by Leicester Tigers Academy.
