Hampshire RFU name new Executive Director |

Hampshire Rugby Football Union Limited are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Richard T. Scott - known to many as Rick Scott - as their new Executive Director. Rick is currently the Secretary of the Hampshire RFU Competitions Sub-Committee and is League Secretary for London Division 3 South-West. He will take up his new post on 1st May 2012.
Rick was born and raised in Bristol, where he first played rugby, he joined the Royal Navy in 1967 leaving as a Warrant Officer in 1989; for the past 22 years he has been the BAE Systems, latterly as a Weapon Systems Project Manager for the Royal Navy of Oman new-build corvettes.
He was recruited to the Competitions Sub-Committee in 2003, taking over as Cup Organiser in 2004 and then as Secretary in 2007.
After playing rugby for his ships and establishments through-out his Naval career (the highlight being a tour to France with an RN XV) and locally with both United Services and Gosport and Fareham, Rick joined Portsmouth Vets soon after he started with BAE. He has coached Colts rugby for Portsmouth and Hampshire Under 17s and adult rugby at Gosport and Fareham, folowed by first team coach at Chichester and then United Services where he later became Director of Rugby.

Hampshire's former Executive director, and fellow ex-Navy ex-US Bristolian, Jed Stone said "Rick will have a difficult start filling John's boots but will bring a different approach and a sailor's eye for detail to the job. I wish him every success in the key role he is about to take on."
