What is the Hampshire RFU School of Rugby?
Hampshire Rugby Football Union, in conjunction with the London Irish Rugby Club, have created the Hampshire School of Rugby, under the auspices of Tim Allen, Club Hampshire's Director of Rugby.
Schools of Rugby run on a weekly basis of the school term, at each centre. Farnborough is at Farnborough RFC, Perins is at Perins School in Alresford, Toynbee is at Toynbee School in Chandlers Ford, and Temeraire is at HMS Temeraire at Portsmouth. All training is held under lights.
Timings are normally 1830 to 2000hrs however Perins start 1815hrs.
Kit required: All players should wear trainers and bring boots with the exception of Toynbee where moulded boots (but no normal rugby boots are allowed) are an option on their all weather pitch. Normal training kit is required and changing facilities at all centres is available. SoR Kit is available on line at HRFU Website, it is not compulsory.
Fees are £75.00 per term. cheques payable to HRFU Ltd.collected and recorded by the Managers at each Centre. |

Perins, Toynbee and at present Temeraire are held on astro type
pitch surfaces and you need trainers instead of boots. Farnborough
is on grass and you will need rugby boots.
All Players should wear training kit and bring along water bottles
and mouth guards. School of Rugby Kit is available for players to
purchase from the Rugby Shop on the Web Site(Optional).
Parents unfortunately, you will need to pay for the School of Rugby,
the fees are £75 per term payable in full at the beginning of the
term or in 2 payments each half of the term. (£45 and £30).
Congratulations to all selected and our best wishes for the future
to all candidates. For those not selected remain positive, work hard
with your schools and Rugby club teams and try again next year when
you are in the County squads.
